Black and White. Riga

Black and White, Čiris Gallery, Riga, Latvia, September 7—20, 1999. Curated by Inga Šteimane.

This was Zenta Dzividzinska’s second solo exhibition. The first took place in 1965—learn more about it here.

The solo show comprised twelve black and white photographs from the 1960s, including a few well-known works as well as previously unpublished ones. The images were blown up to the size of 130 x 90 cm and printed as silver gelatin prints. All images, according to the curator’s feminist vision, depicted women.

The exhibition was accompanied by an eponymous publication.
