Līga Goldberga is the curator of Dzividzinska photo collection at the National Library of Latvia. In this research article, Goldberga sheds light on the making of several previously unpublished photomontages. To create these experimental images, Dzividzinska merged her photographs of a nude female model and ancient stone sculptures depicting mythological, androgynous/humanoid creatures that she photographed in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine, in 1967.
Some of these images were included in the exhibition “All’s Good Between Us,” curated by Andra Silapētere and organized by the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art (LCCA). The exhibition and related programming was on view at 60A-21 Dzirnavu Street, Riga, Latvia, from February 14 to March 31, 2024. [extended until April 4]
