6th Helsinki Exhibition of Photographic Art

6th Helsinki Exhibition of Photographic Art, on the premises of the Builders’ House, Fredrikinkatu 51, Helsinki, Finland, May 5-12, 1968.

Dzividzinska had two works accepted, Happiness (1966), #159 in the catalogue, and Alone (1967), #160. See Happiness here and Alone here.

Interestingly, and unlike most other international photo exhibitions at the time, the Helsinki Exhibition listed Dzividzinska and other Latvian participants under “Latvian SSR,” separately from the Soviet Union (a section containing only Russian entries). At that time, such nuance had a special meaning to Latvian photographers.
